Michael R. Mosall II

I graduated from Union College in 2000 with a Bachelors degree in Political Science.  I received a second bachelors degree in Visual Art and Digital Imaging in 2003 from S.U.N.Y Albany. While working towards my Visual Art degree, I spent the better part of five years at Union College in the photography area as a photography lab technician where I assisted in the day to day guidance of beginning, intermediate, advanced, and independently studying photography students with general to specific photography related questions. It was this experience that encouraged me to pursue a Masters of Arts in Teaching degree and New York Certification from Union Graduate College in 2005. I have been a Social Studies Teacher at Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School since September 2005.
As a teacher, I strongly believe that incorporating emerging technologies and varying teaching methodology is extremely important in the classroom. I spend a great deal of time thinking about how students learn and how to best capture the attention of the 21st century student. Projects like Econ Island demonstrate this commitment to alternative methodology and higher level thinking opportunities for my students.
