TRAITS

Every player in Econ Island v3 has a choice to make about his or her kingdom: Peace, Production, or War. To enhance that choice, each kingdom can be equipped with traits, which will enhance farming, industry, or military abilities. Each path has advantages and shortcomings the player must contend with.


WAY OF THE PLOWSHARE

Those who follow the Way of the Plowshare are committing to peaceful advancement of their kingdom through better farming techniques, strengthened defenses, and slightly increased technological advancement. As peaceful farmers, players seek to gain influence through trade and commerce. Military Defensive ratings increase while Military Offense suffers. There are seven (7) Way of the Plowshare cards that can be added to a player’s kingdom plot sheet. Each card has a specific cost that must be paid before the card can be equipped to a player’s kingdom. Some of the more powerful Way of the Plowshare cards have Realm Rank requirements and special ingredients. Kingdom plot sheets have room to equip only five (5) trait cards so each player must choose the traits that best fit their play style.

WAY OF THE SWORD

Those who follow the Way of the Sword are committing to aggression and violence to gain influence and plunder. Those who follow the Way of the Sword will enjoy advanced Total Military Offensive ratings at the cost of slightly weakened defenses, higher military readiness cost, slower technological advancement, and higher food costs. There are seven (7) Way of the Sword cards that can be added to a player’s kingdom plot sheet. Each card has a specific cost that must be paid before the card can be equipped to a player’s kingdom. Some of the more powerful Way of the Sword cards have Realm Rank requirements and special ingredients. Kingdom plot sheets have room to equip only five (5) trait cards so each player must choose the traits that best fit their play style.

WAY OF THE FOUNDRY

Those who follow the Way of the Foundry are committing to progress through invention and efficiency. Necessity is the mother of invention. Way of the Foundry provides dramatically lower technological evolution costs, slightly lower water requirements and higher Total Military Defense ratings. On the other hand, the Way of the Foundry deceases Total Military Offense and increases energy requirements. There are seven (7) Way of the Foundry cards that can be added to a player’s kingdom plot sheet. Each card has a specific cost that must be paid before the card can be equipped to a player’s kingdom. Some of the more powerful Way of the Foundry cards have Realm Rank requirements and special ingredients.
